Same-Day Dentures
Same-day dentures, also called immediate dentures, are complete or partial dentures that are placed on the same day as the extraction procedure. This procedure is typically for patients who have already lost their teeth and have healed gums. They are made on-site with the look and function of natural teeth.
Same-day dentures are often more natural-looking immediately after the procedure as they do not affect the gums as traditional dentures do. The Fitting Appointment
A fitting appointment is the first step in the process of getting dentures. This appointment typically takes place at least four weeks after a tooth extraction to give the gums time to heal. Patients who choose immediate or temporary dentures will have an impression taken beforehand, so the dentures are ready at the time of the extraction. Then, patients get fitted for their permanent dentures after four to eight weeks.
